Thought Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver's box was large? You ain't seen nothing yet.

Ninokuni puts all the other DS game boxes to shame by having this giant thing to house both the massive spellbook and another box for the game and instruction manual. Like it? It's like a glorified movie poster (I actually mistook this for an actual movie poster when I first saw it)! Me like.

Hopefully it's not made out of cardboard like Pokemon HG/SS. I imagine the bulk of the spellbook would crush this fragile masterpiece.

From Kotaku. Someone crafted this adorable patchwork plush doll of Shizuku, the tear spirit in Ninokuni who guides the boy around the alternate world after his mother died. It's not for sale, but man, I would lvoe to have one of these. And maybe make it come alive when I cry on it, like in the game.

The first two Japanese commercials for the highly anticipated DS RPG are out for viewing! Although still not betraying any secrets about its gameplay, which is still being kept largely hidden.

Just to clarify things though, since it doesn't mention a console name in both ads, the release date of December 9 2010 is for the DS version of Ninokuni, and not the PS3 version. The full title of the game shown in the ad is 二ノ国 漆黒の魔導士 (Ninokuni- Shikkoku no Madoushi, or Ninokuni- The Pitch Black Sorcerer), while the PS3 version's name is  二ノ国 白き聖灰の女王 (Ninokuni- Shiroki Kiyoshi Hai no Joou, or Ninokuni- Queen of the White Sacred Ash).

Two entriely different games sharing the same first name, on two entirely different platforms. Try not to mix them up again *wink*

Ninokuni PS3 Trailer

Hey, I didn't know they were both different games, this and the DS version. This means you could get both versions if you wanted to. Both are set in the same world, though I can see both stories connecting with each other. The PS3 version's even given a separate title from the DS one.

And it's one of the sweetest, most charming thing I've seen on PS3. The characters and monsters move fluidly, there's no need for animated cutscenes anymore. It's like you're playing a living, breathing cutscene! I sense a big seller in this PS3 version. But what of the DS one? I bet the PS3 won't have a packed-in spellbook.

The latest Famitsu confirms the enigma surrounding the final bit of the original Ninokuni trailer (for the DS). 'For DS and Another Platform'. Well, shown on top in big shiny letters....there's our Another Platform- the PS3. Well wasn't that unexpected.

If the anime cutscenes looked nice on DS, just imagine what they'd be like in full HD! Man, I can't wait to see this without silly video codecs (Level-5 uses mobiclip, I think. Or ActImagine) getting in the way!

Ninokuni, Last Story and Xenoblade new scans!

Scans from GoNintendo, and they're looking sweet at the moment! Key of all being Ninokuni, which is what everyone would probably choose if they had a choice of the three games anyway. The new Ninokuni scans showcase a lot of new in-game screenshots that aren't cutscenes, some more new cutscenes(hey, it's a Ghibli game. Why else would the cutscenes be important?) and the world map, the titular 'Another World'. We already know about the doll, Shizuku, which was given to the boy, Oliver, by his mother who died early on. Shizuku is the fairy of tears, and comes to life if tears fall onto it(check the trailer).

Ninokuni, the Nintendo DS RPG game developed by Level-5 seems to have missed the mark for its 10th anniversary. 2009 has come and gone and it still isn't released. Although it isn't confirmed, the game should see a release sometime this year.
