Nintendo Controllers Free of Lawsuits!

Written by pikaby

What? How did this happe- oh, I remember now. This was back in 06, when Anascape took Microsoft and Nintendo to court over infringing its patent over the analogue sticks.

It's quite an old tale. If only Phoenix Wright was here to defend, none of this would've dragged on for nearly four years. Nintendo lost the first legal fight and Gamecube Controllers and Wavebirds were banned from the stores. Now that you mention it- that's why I haven't been able to buy a replacement for so long. The Wiimote, Nunchuk and Microsoft's controllers went unscathed.

Now, after Nintendo's appeal on the federal level, the Gamecube controllers have been freed of all legal entanglement.

Quoted from Rick Flamm, from Nintendo:

"In 2008, the jury determined that the Wii Remote and Nunchuck did not infringe,"
"Today the Federal Circuit's ruling confirmed that none of Nintendo's controllers infringe. We appreciate that our position has been vindicated."

Now probably I can get one for my Wii.

Celebrate your Gamecube controllers! Come to this topic in our forum~
