Nintendo sued over Wii Fit

Written by pikaby

Oh hey we finally won the patent suit on the Gamecube controllers! Yeah! Come on guys, let's celebrate, beer's on me!

Five minutes later....

*phone rings* Hello.....WHAT?
Yet another lawsuit, and now that Nintendo's joypads are untouchable, some other company takes aim at its second most popular peripheral, the Balance Board. IA Labs, based in Potomac, Maryland, is suing Nintendo this time. It makes interactive fitness equipment and claims Wii Fit rips off its technology.

The patents filed for this time are "Computer interactive isometric exercise system and method for operatively interconnecting the exercise system to a computer system for use as a peripheral" and "Force measurement system for an isometric exercise device."

What's next, someone decides to make a patent for a virtual swinging baseball bat and sues the Wii MotionPlus and Sony's PS Move?
